지어진 지 40년 된 2층 구조의 단독주택을 사무실로 재탄생시킨 리모델링 프로젝트입니다.
스트레스가 많이 누적되어 있던 건물의 불필요한 부분을 걷어내고, 새롭게 구조 보강을 진행했습니다.
대상지는 좁은 대지 위 건물이 밀집해 있는 지역에 위치해 있어 내부로 들어오는 채광이 부족하며, 옆 건물과의 가까운 거리로 인해 창을 가리고 지내야 했습니다. 우리는 프라이버시를 유지하며 동시에 채광을 건물 안으로 들여올 수 있도록 건물의 외부 계단 난간 선에 맞춰 건물 높이만큼 큰 레이어를 설치했습니다. 마음 편히 사용할 수 없던 2층 내부에서부터 외부 테라스까지 생활 영역이 확장되고, 묵직하면서도 따뜻한 공간으로 새롭게 태어났습니다. 콘크리트 패널, 금속으로 제작된 도어와 난간, 화강석 계단, 천연 및 인조 가죽 등 다양한 재료를 사용하면서 동시에 각각의 재료가 본래의 모습을 유지하며 어우러지는 것에 중점을 두었습니다.

This is a remodeling project in which a 40-year-old two-story house was transformed into an office.
The unnecessary parts of the building that were showing wear and tear were torn down, and the structure was newly reinforced to make it more sturdy.
The site is located in a densely populated area full of buildings. Due to its close proximity to the adjacent building, the windows always had to be covered, and there was a perpetual lack of sunlight.
We installed a layer as tall as the building's height to be in line with the exterior stair railings to secure a sense of privacy, but at the same time, allow light to enter the building. The living area now spans from the inner side of the second floor (which the owners had not felt comfortable using) to the outdoor terrace, and the space now has a solemn but warm feel.
We employed various materials such as concrete panels, metal doors and railings, granite stairs, natural and artificial leather, and our focus was on maintaining the materials' natural qualities while simultaneously seeking harmonization among them.
