서울시 강남구 논현동에 위치한 건물을 토탈석재의 쇼룸 및 오피스 공간으로 재탄생시키는 프로젝트입니다. 

철 함량과 압력, 열에 의해 다양한 색과 결이 만들어지는 원재료인 대리석의 특징을 어떻게 표현할지, 대지 면적이 작은 공간 안에서 어떤 방식으로 효율적인 디스플레이를 보여줄 수 있을지, 지하 1층부터 지상 7층까지 어떤 테마를 두어야 토탈석재의 브랜딩을 더 살릴 수 있을지 고민했습니다. 지하 1층에서 외부로 올라가는 대피로의 딱딱한 느낌을 지우고자 물 위로 빛이 떨어지는 수영장을 상상하며 푸른빛의 대리석으로 모두 감싸서 대피로의 기능적인 공간일뿐 아니라 특별한 쇼룸 공간으로 느껴질 수 있도록 연출했습니다. 또한, 쇼룸에서 보여지는 각각의 돌마다 가진 특성에 리듬감을 주어, 관람자로 하여금 시각적으로 접근하여 감정적으로 반응하는 것을 직접 느껴볼 수 있기를 희망하였습니다. 

 

This is a project at the Total Marble showroom and office in Nonhyeon-dong in southern Seoul. Points of focus were: how best to show the properties of marble, for which various colors and textures are possible depending on the pressure, heat, and iron content; how to display everything effectively in a limited space; and which themes would be fitting for floors 1 through 7 so that the Total Marble brand could shine.

To alleviate the feeling of rigidity that may come from an evacuation route, for the passage that stretches from the basement level 2 to the outside, everything was wrapped in blue marble. This was to call to mind light falling on a swimming pool for those passing through. We were able to maintain its function but at the same time make it feel as though it was an unusual showroom. 

We tried to give a sense of rhythm to each type of marble in the showroom so that a positive emotional reaction could be triggered when visitors approached the stones.
