'쓸모없음에서 쓸모 있음으로'는 폐대리석이 쓸모 없음에서 쓸모 있음으로 옮겨지는 과정을 담아낸다. 작가는 형태가 있는 것이라면 구조와 표피를 가지는 것에 주목하며, 스테인리스 스틸로 작품의 뼈대를 구축하고 폐대리석을 활용하여 뼈대를 표피처럼 감싸 작품을 완성했다. 이 과정에서 작가는 용도를 상실했던 폐대리석을 작품의 표피로 치환하며, 대리석이 가진 본연의 아름다움을 탐색하고자 한다.

'Useless to Useful' captures the process of transforming discarded marble from useless to useful. He focuses on the thought that every forms possess both structure and surface, constructing the structure with stainless steel and enveloping it with discarded marble as a surface. In this process, he regards the once-purposeless marble as the artwork's surface, exploring the intrinsic beauty of the material.creations inspired by the combination of many forms, structures, and numerous layers that Hyunjong Kim has experienced in architecture.
